I like how it opens up with that raindroppy sound. I thought the reverb worked well for the song. The singer sounds really great as well.

It sounds a bit weird when that other voice comes in the forefront at 2:13 and 1:25. On the contrast though, the echo/delay affect on the voice at 1:25 was beautiful. The song overall is very calming and it was definitely a good listen. Very constructive.

Listening to this was enjoyable while browsing the net. The mix overall sounds very clean and smooth. The start sounded weird for me for some reason. I think its that sustained synth in the background that sounds funny to me. Eh, idk, Not much of I problem though. You did well with keeping up the variety, so it didn't get boring. The side chaining sounds very good at the part around 1:00. That's something I haven't got to sound that well yet. Hm. I'm not too much of a fan of the arrangement overall though. Just not melodies that I found too engaging for whatever reason. The piano parts are great though.

This is a good song, just not exactly my cup of tea.

Thx for the review :D. Glad you enjoyed. Yea the melodies where kinda random and not really thought through. Might polish this up a bit in the future ;).

I went ahead and listened to the original first before hearing this. This is a pretty spot on chiptube remake. I can feel the gameboy in my hand now.... Oh the memories. Anyway, I have no gripes with this at all. This accomplishes it's goal. I honestly can't think of a way real constructive feedback. Just keep it up!

Good job overall with creating the synths. I like most of them, especially the bass ones. I don't like the lead that starts off at the beginning though. Also not really personally a fan of the arrangement itself, but i'm not really a fan of the genre either. I think it was made well overall. Good transitions. My favorite part is the part that starts around 2:50. That smooth bass is just groovy lol.

Jayk-O responds:

That's my fav part, and yea the song not done yet. Especially that intro synth it's supposed to be less whiny but I can't figure out what's wrong.
Basically my computer can't handle the automation so I need to keep exporting to hear what the song sounds like.

This sounds like something I listen to on a regular basis... Well, up to a point. It really got me when those 808s hit around 2:20, then it kinda started sounding like a rap beat, lol. Which I liked. It was a good twist from the stuff I normally listen to. Everything about this is good. The melodies, the structure, the build ups... The only thing with this songs is it feels like most of it kind of lacks power. I don't know what it is, but that's just the thought that comes to me.

This track is smooth, clean, and just well made overall. I'll probably download this on my phone, ocne I get it from my car.

Thanks for the review :D I really wanted to do something different. I've been really into trap as of recently so I figured a trap break would be really cool. Regarding the power, I agree. I could've given it more power. I just didn't know what I could've done without adding more CPU which was already maxed out.

This is sick lololol imma download this and blast it in my friend's car.

OZeros responds:

LOL yeah try to enjoy with your friend

Yes! I definitely remember hearing the other version of this song. I had it downloaded on my phone for a little bit actually, lol. Again, the piano at the beginning is freaking great. Actually, I'll try to stay away from talking about stuff in the old version of the song since I already reviewed that.

The part the comes in around 48 seconds surprised me. I was already so used to how it sounded before that I didn't like it. After listening to it a few times though, I ended up liking it more. I love the way the song speeds back up at. The sidechaning part that comes in at 2:36 just slid in so smoothly with the wind effect and all. The bell melody constantly in the background accompanies everything well. The only thing I kinda didn't like much was the melody that played with that lead around 2:50. I dunno exactly. It kinda just matched with the melody that was already there, which isn't a bad thing in all cases, but I felt like it was pushing it, ya'know? It's hard to explain lol. Anyway, the song ended pretty cool with all the glitchy stuff. I can just tell so much effort was put into this song. You should really make stuff more frequently.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I know exactly what you mean actually, I was on the fence about adding a lead there... and I'm still on the fence about if it was a good idea or not, but I figured it'd break up a little bit of the monotony of just having the bass and plucks going the entire time... and I couldn't really think up anything else to add that wouldn't just make it over complicated.

And yes, I should... And I will be, now that I have more time during the week. Glad you liked it.

Eh, I personally didn't like it too much. As soon as the song opened up, it seemed to have that main, kind of cliche trancey melody that I notice a lot on trance songs. (and even in a song I made lol) That may sound like a weird complaint, but I know what I mean at least :p. That would have been fine though depending on how the rest of the song was handled, but I didn't really like anything else either. The other melodies that came in to accompany the main melody just felt stale and boring, and I didn't like how the breaks in the song were handled. It just felt weird. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

This sounds pretty tight. Definitely has a ton of potential to turn into something awesome. The bass is implemented well, and everything is just smooth. I could see the full track being so intense lol. The kick is great, the atmosphere is great, the percussion and wind effects are great. No gripes with this loop at all. Can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Pretty cool knowing that you played it yourself with limited piano skill. Did something actually happen in your life or where you just imagining a scenario? This song feels very emotional and calming. My gripe with it though its that the melody in general just doesn't really stick with me.

Chemiqals responds:

It was actually a combination of a movie that affected me and how I was generally feeling at the time!
