I really like the sound effect heavy lead in with the weather sounds. Then the notes that come in afterwards are fine and build up nicely with the powerful kick. The drop is sort of what makes the song fall flat for me. Something about the particular sounds used or the mixing turns me off from it. The break after the drop is cool though and the piano part is nice. I like the sounds and everything used there. You're good with all of the ambient sound effects. It adds a lot to the quieter parts. (Something I need to learn to improve on myself) My personal favorite part comes right after the second drop.

Thanks for the response! Feedback is always appreciated. :)

The thing that bugs me here is that you seem to name a lot of pros and very few cons, yet your rating is 3/5 stars. Maybe there are some issues that you didn't mention?

Sounds like it would be in a space related horror game. I think this piece is very well done. The pads are eerie, the voice in the background is haunting. The sounds you used here are perfect, and the dissonant build up at the beginning is a good way to start it off. It got my imagination going. I pictured a derelict spaceship floating out in the blackness of space filled with dead crew members who were murdered by some kind of feral alien race. This is a pretty perfect creepy ambient piece you got here. I'd love to play whatever game you have in your head.

Thanks! :D Fall of Agular is based on another planet (a very steam punk planet) in the distant future. the humanoids of Agular live with a settlement of humans who had crashed there in one of the failed experiments of faster then light travel. generations pasted and they grew very close. But another kingdom, ruled by a tyrant named Aryan, is at war with Agular. But, because of the military power of the kingdom and natural protection (mountains) they were never a threat. This was until another alien civilization began to give aryan their technology and military tactics. But, it was a set up and the alien civilization came to conquer the planet while it was in dismay. Then! (triumphant music) because of the main character finding and activating apart of piece of a ship, earth came to defend the settlement and Agular...

I've thought of this a lot...that isn't even the full story. its the sequel to book I had started to write.

This son is pretty good. That bass is juicy and very satisfying to the ears. You use a lot of interesting synths here. Feels like it gets a bit repetitive after a while, even for this being a short song. Sounds like they're some mixing issues at the more complicated parts of the song. Overall though it was fun to listen to.

Al-Neria-Fusioncore responds:

Thanks to Review.

That synth is absolutely beautiful. I don't know if you made that or used a preset of some sort but I love that sound. While I do love that synth, it's also a bit irritating to the ear a bit. Kind of lessens that soothing tone I think you were going for. Especially when that higher octave kicks in. The pitch drop is great, as are the sound effects that you use. This is a very good ambient track. One of the better ones I've heard.

Fubaka responds:

The synth in question is a recording of my voice, edited to sound more tonal and instrumental.

As for the tone, I was not intending it to be soothing all the way through. I wanted it to be more overt at the climax of the song. If you find it too irritating, I apologize, but I will not be changing it.

Thanks for your review and honest thoughts.

Right at the beginning it starts off sounding really harsh and not in a way I enjoy. The mixing could a lot better. The build up around 31 sounds very crowded and like the volumes of other sounds are being altered in an unnatural way. I like the part at around 1:13. That synth is very cool and pleasing to listen to. I think the actual arrangement is decent, but it's just kind of plagued by mixing issues.

Meca-Dahaka responds:

Thank you for listening my music and advicing

Interesting sound. Has kind of a goofy tone. It has enough variety for a song of this length in my eyes. I like all of the sounds you used here, to the piano, the plucky sound, and especially the guitar adds a lot here. The main problem I have with the song is the mix. Trying EQing the frequencies on the sounds so they don't clash as much. It will get rid of a lot of the muddiness

IndustryStandard responds:

Mixing is the bane of my existence right now, but i totally agree with you. In fairness, i didn't spend a whole lot of time on the mix so the iffy quality is partly due to my own laziness, but mixing is also something I just haven't quite gotten the hang of yet as that seems to be something that pops up in most of the reviews i get.

Glad to know the music itself is worth listening to though, This'll definitely be something i rework and remix. Thanks for the input!

Wow this is the first song here I've seen that used the LBP sequencer! This is awesome considering you made it on that. I have a ton of experience creating music with it. I really like what you got going here too. Good melodies, good energy, and good variety considering the length at leasr. It'd fit nicely in a level. I can't fault anything with the mixing just because the LBP sequencer has no EQing options. I only wish this stretched out a bit, and it doesn't loop perfectly.

Retsamehtmai responds:

Cool! thank you! I'm also surprised that this is the first lbp sequencer song you've heard on NG. I know other lbp composers that post here so there's more out there! :D Speaking of mixing people have told me about how cruddy the mixing is before and I've been trying to fix it. D: It wasn't a priority for this song so there's that lol. It's also short because of the level I had to make along with it and it doesn't loop correctly because...I haven't worked with the looping on NG before O_O I'll try to fix it ^_^;

I'm not familiar with the original song, but I definitely enjoyed this. The mix is clean, and melodies definitely catch me. And the guitar work here is great! (Well i'm just guessing that's you playing). The only real problem I have here is that the high pitched sounds get a bit hard to listen to near the end, but otherwise, this is a very solid piece. Keep up the good work!

I think the actual composition is quite good! It's just the mastering and recording equipment you probably have, Like you said in reply to that other review, those things cost money. I wish I could rate this higher though, but this is as high this type of sound quality will let me vote lol. You definitely got some talent though man. Keep up the creativity!

Gergaloth responds:

Thank you so much, in time my shit will sound pristine
however I do enjoy the lofi sound, I'll try to get higher fidelity soon

Definitely does remind me of video game music, and I thought this before I got to reading the description or looking at tags. Specifically, reminds me of of some kind of RPG. I can't help but keep trying to imagine a cut into battle music or something lol. It's mixed well, really does sound like something I'd hear in a PS1 era game. I like the synths you used too. I only think the composition/melody itself isn't anything that captures me too much. It's definitely not bad, but it doesn't stand out as something special to me. Still a solid track!
