I like the spooky feel of this. That ghosty synth you used is really awesome! The percussion done very well in my opinion. I think the song is well made overall. My gripes with this song pretty much lies in the melodies, which don't catch me too much. That's more subjective man, you're good at this. Keep it up!

Thanks for your comments, I appreciate the feedback.
I'll try to bring the melody lines to the "front" of the song and hope for better "catchiness"

I was looking at the picture you posted while listening to this lol. This is freakin good. The part that starts at 41 seconds is where it gets really amazing. The strings that come in the background make for a very eerie atmosphere. The melody is extremely enjoyable. The change of tone around 1:40 was unexpected, but still great. The build up to it was very good. The drums and percussion is very powerful. Dang this is just great. I have nothing bad to say about this. Honestly the easiest 5/5 I've rated. I was hooked the whole way through.

Thank you so much! I'm greatly pleased to hear that you enjoyed it all!

Feel free to fan me or whatever if you like my stuff overall.

Take care, man

What a nice surprise for your dad! It's very thoughtful and i'm sure he'll be very happy to hear it. There's nothing I find wrong with the mix itself or anything. The melody is catchy and lighthearted. The piano sounds extremely good too. What do you use for it?

SoundChris responds:

The melody itself is from my dad - he played it when i was a kid. Usually my stuff is far mor dark / sinister / sad - maybe thats more my nature :D Concerning the mix: I didnt spend time for the mixing - the whole piece was written in - maybe 2 or 3 hours. I was quite surprised i still knew the whole melody after all the years. For the piano i have used the boesendorfer 290 imperial from Quantum Leaps - Pianos Platinum, which is IMO the best virtual piano collection i have ever seen. Meanwhile i use the steinway for late romantical stuff, the boesendorfer for jazz, the bechstein for vienna / mannheim classical pieces and the yamaha for pop - but not from Pianos - for this kind of sound i would still recommend NI Alicia´s Keys (Yamaha C3 neo) which is cool for pop productions and also for cinematic stuff with much reverb.

Thanks a lot for your review!

Even though the violins don't sound perfect, they work very well for this song. I'm getting a fantasy vibe listening to this. It sounds like something that be in a kingdom hearts game lol. The melody is sweet, and conveys a lot of mystery and emotion. The bell that plays in the background accompanies it well, and the end of the loop with all of those melodies are just great. Amazing work.

There were a few times I was thinking about the music from Kingdom Hearts while making this haha. Thanks for the review!

Well if you ever decide to make it a full song, then there should be some build up the the intro here. (Well you may already know that though). It's starts off fine too, but I think you could make a really cool intro there as well. The synths you used are cool and and it's a nice little melody. I'd like to hear a full version if you ever got around to making it.

freaksy101 responds:

Thanks! I made it short because the process of making it had become tiring as I was using a new piece of software which I was unfamiliar with. I'm not making a full song of this but I am working on some to be released.

This is a really good track. It definitely fits the theme you seemed to have set for it. I kept thinking of the sky facility place in ratchet and clank going commando, lol. I love the nice hard kicks that come it. That break at around 1:01 tight lol. At that point I started really getting into it. All of that other ambient noise in the background really adds to the whole atmosphere of everything.

You chose a very interesting, yet fitting set of synths for this song. Everything goes together very well. Great job!

ganon95 responds:

glad ya liked it :) i tried hard to fit a specific theme on this one

Listening to this was enjoyable while browsing the net. The mix overall sounds very clean and smooth. The start sounded weird for me for some reason. I think its that sustained synth in the background that sounds funny to me. Eh, idk, Not much of I problem though. You did well with keeping up the variety, so it didn't get boring. The side chaining sounds very good at the part around 1:00. That's something I haven't got to sound that well yet. Hm. I'm not too much of a fan of the arrangement overall though. Just not melodies that I found too engaging for whatever reason. The piano parts are great though.

This is a good song, just not exactly my cup of tea.

EctiBot responds:

Thx for the review :D. Glad you enjoyed. Yea the melodies where kinda random and not really thought through. Might polish this up a bit in the future ;).

Good job overall with creating the synths. I like most of them, especially the bass ones. I don't like the lead that starts off at the beginning though. Also not really personally a fan of the arrangement itself, but i'm not really a fan of the genre either. I think it was made well overall. Good transitions. My favorite part is the part that starts around 2:50. That smooth bass is just groovy lol.

Jayk-O responds:

That's my fav part, and yea the song not done yet. Especially that intro synth it's supposed to be less whiny but I can't figure out what's wrong.
Basically my computer can't handle the automation so I need to keep exporting to hear what the song sounds like.

This sounds like something I listen to on a regular basis... Well, up to a point. It really got me when those 808s hit around 2:20, then it kinda started sounding like a rap beat, lol. Which I liked. It was a good twist from the stuff I normally listen to. Everything about this is good. The melodies, the structure, the build ups... The only thing with this songs is it feels like most of it kind of lacks power. I don't know what it is, but that's just the thought that comes to me.

This track is smooth, clean, and just well made overall. I'll probably download this on my phone, ocne I get it from my car.

ksthultz15 responds:

Thanks for the review :D I really wanted to do something different. I've been really into trap as of recently so I figured a trap break would be really cool. Regarding the power, I agree. I could've given it more power. I just didn't know what I could've done without adding more CPU which was already maxed out.

This is sick lololol imma download this and blast it in my friend's car.

OZeros responds:

LOL yeah try to enjoy with your friend
