Yes! I definitely remember hearing the other version of this song. I had it downloaded on my phone for a little bit actually, lol. Again, the piano at the beginning is freaking great. Actually, I'll try to stay away from talking about stuff in the old version of the song since I already reviewed that.

The part the comes in around 48 seconds surprised me. I was already so used to how it sounded before that I didn't like it. After listening to it a few times though, I ended up liking it more. I love the way the song speeds back up at. The sidechaning part that comes in at 2:36 just slid in so smoothly with the wind effect and all. The bell melody constantly in the background accompanies everything well. The only thing I kinda didn't like much was the melody that played with that lead around 2:50. I dunno exactly. It kinda just matched with the melody that was already there, which isn't a bad thing in all cases, but I felt like it was pushing it, ya'know? It's hard to explain lol. Anyway, the song ended pretty cool with all the glitchy stuff. I can just tell so much effort was put into this song. You should really make stuff more frequently.

I know exactly what you mean actually, I was on the fence about adding a lead there... and I'm still on the fence about if it was a good idea or not, but I figured it'd break up a little bit of the monotony of just having the bass and plucks going the entire time... and I couldn't really think up anything else to add that wouldn't just make it over complicated.

And yes, I should... And I will be, now that I have more time during the week. Glad you liked it.

Pretty cool knowing that you played it yourself with limited piano skill. Did something actually happen in your life or where you just imagining a scenario? This song feels very emotional and calming. My gripe with it though its that the melody in general just doesn't really stick with me.

Chemiqals responds:

It was actually a combination of a movie that affected me and how I was generally feeling at the time!

I liked the way it opened up. The song has a ton of variety, and the mix sounds very clean. I can tell a lot of effort was put into making the different parts of this song. Stuff like this does not come close to going through my head though. It feels to me like this is a song tat you made on LSD xD. Well I suppose we all just have our different styles. Anyway, I'll admit. I'm not a big fan of this type of music in general, and it started boring me about half way through. I did enjoy what the percussion brought though. It feels like all of my gripes with this song are purely subjective, so you keep doin you.

Daru925 responds:

Thanks for listening and for the honest review.
Rest assured that I don't need the so called creativity boosters to come up with this kind of stuff.
I'm crazy enough already ;)

Starts off slow, but all of the random bass and other sounds that hit throughout the song really give a mysterious vibe. For some reason, listening to this song made me picture being in a empty, dark desert with ash falling and an active volcano in sight, overflowing with lava.... Under a blackened sky...

Yes. That is quite the scene you set here. Lol

The more the song builds up, the closer the volcano is to erupting. As it gets to it's climax, the volcano erupts... And at the end, is the aftermath.

I'm glad it painted such a vivid scene for you! ^_^

I like it. Not a fan of dubstep in general, but this has so much variety that I can't blow it off for that reason. I also sort of enjoyed the melody that the wubs gave off too. The ambiance of this whole song is just great. For some reason, the phrase "industrial apocalypse" springs to my mind, and I don't think I've ever thought of those words together before in my life lol. One thing I really find unique about this is the way the Violin slowly turns into the hardstyle trance pad. Well I've personally never seen it done before. Sounds kind of weird, but not exactly in a bad way.

Well the percussion is definitely on point, the mix sounds clean, and the atmosphere is very vivid. I can easily think of a scene while listening to this. Keep it up!

Thanks for your review! Im glad you liked it! I try to make most of my music appealing to a broader audience, not just fans of EDM. I like using weird things in my music, as long as they sound good in the end xD

Interesting idea... To bad I don't read so I probably wont get the references. It's hard for me to get critical with this since it's such an weird idea in general xD. The ambiance that the dialogue is great for the atmosphere. I was really surprised when that first melody came in. I really liked how it fit in there. Actually, listening to this a couple times, I see sort of a structure. The main dialogue parts make up the verse, and the melodic parts are like the chorus. Anyway, this is actually really great. Just everything comes together well, and the melodic sections are just extremely well made. Sounds like something I'd here in a more abstract 2D platformer. Reminds me of Thomas was Alone specifically. Keep it up!

CzeryWassierSwizier responds:

Structure is one of my weaker points. You made me realize that I usually fall back on my default ABAB structure, I'll have to do some experimentation next time! Thank you for bringing this to my attention :)

I'm liking this. The little buildup around 48 seconds is awesome. This is a nice, chill track. Great for calm background music.

It has plenty of good variety. My favorite parts are the sections with the choir in the background. They sound extremely good, and the melody there is just brilliantly soothing. The piano closes it out perfect in my opinion. Sorry I don't have any real criticisms to say. There is nothing that sticks out to me that I don't like about this song without getting extremely nitpicky. This is just a great piece overall.

anti-phantom responds:

No worries, I'm glad you liked it !

For a short loop, this is pretty good. I've listened to this like 10+ times now lol. There is so much that could be done with this. Everything you have here is so smooth and flows so well. I really encourage you to keep working on this and flesh it out more. Not much else I can say considering how short this is.

prodrift101 responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

I tried to do something completely different compared to what I normally make and it seems as though it's working out for me. Sorry it's so short, but I'm working on something a bit longer and more involved which is going to be made in the same process as this song.

Lol this is actually pretty cool. It's a really creative twist on the Old McDonald song. It's a really crazy, random tune/beat/whatever, but yet it has enough of s structure to not sound too much like a mess. Of course it sounds a little bit like a mess, but in a good way! My favorite part is the section that comes up at 1:04.

JonH2O responds:

Glad you enjoyed it. I didn't expect it to come out this good. It was a 1st run play experiment with an iPhone app and once I got going I couldn't stop. It was the first thing that came to mind for 10 syllables to max out the samples haha.

I like the general beat/theme you have going. There is something about the lead synth that I don't like. I mean, it's not too bad, but I feel like the lead could have worked better with something else. Maybe even just some slight changes. Sorry I can't be more constructive on what it is about it that I find off =P. It's probably fine and just me nitpicking. The song is very well made overall. The percussion was clean, the drop was clean. It got a bit repetitive since it is the same beat the whole time, but still an overall good song.

EctiBot responds:

Thx for the feedback :D.
Glad you like it and I can actually understand what you mean about the lead.
For me theres two main problems with the lead.
1: The lead synth itself is kinda flat sounding and this is probably because I just used a vst preset and didn't tweak it at all
2: The melody during the drop is the exact same as the one during the buildup without any difference at all making it feel less heavy and kinda slowpaced.

This is still a work in progress though and I'm glad you liked it so far :D.
Thx for the feedback :)
